J. B. has been writing songs since his early teens. “Old” was recorded primarily in Nashville over a number of years, although two tracks were produced in Ojai CA, where he lives. The songs reflect the thoughts, feelings and experiences of someone who is … well, old. J.B isn’t coy about his age—the cover of his CD is a certified copy of his birth certificate.

Acknowledgements

A grateful shout-out to Jimmy Calire for his stellar string and celeste arrangements on “Close Your Sleepy Eyes.”
A special thanks to Kevin Madill, the musical director on all the Nashville sessions, for his friendship and sublime musicianship.
And to Martin Young for so superbly taking the production reins on the two Ojai sessions.
Special thanks as well to Rain Perry. She lured me back into songwriting after an extended absence. Most of the songs on this record wouldn’t exist without her gentle suasion
The specialist thanks of all to Donny Marrow. He has enjoyed and supported my music for near-on a lifetime. He is the soul of generosity, kindness and friendship—this record’s sine qua non.
Last, but never least, thanks to Charlie Bosson (a true Renaissance man) for designing the CD.
"Old" is dedicated to ejemi, inc. and its subsidiaries, who make growing old a joy.
